Good evening everyone! Tonight's Sunday blog post is all about, you guessed it, being calm, or how to be (get) calm.  This way of life is very important to me.  I believe in treating myself and pampering my mind as much as I do my body because it allows me to be the best me I can be.  I can love more, laugh more, and do more when I am in a calm state of mind.  If you are going through stress right now or a highly demanding job, you need to make sure to take care of yourself and take note of my "Calm" strategies and maybe you can try one after reading this post.

Yoga
"May the light within me, honor the light within you". This is a mantra within yogic practice and I really believe in meditation, which is a major part of yoga. Letting the mind rest allows me to regroup and push my troubles or stresses behind, at least for a little while.  Yoga allows me to stretch and unwind (I do yoga at the end of the day).  I enjoy setting an intention for the practice and I am always so happy and relaxed after a yoga class. I go to Yoga on Main in Manayunk, PA.

Pampering
I try to pamper myself (beauty wise) once or twice a week.  This involves a face mask, exfoliating, doing my nails, a hair mask, and sometimes a bath.  I think we all deserve to be pampered.  It makes me feel good and brand new!

This is one of my favorite masks. It smells like a spa and leaves my face baby soft. It is deep cleansing too!

Candles are great for creating ambiance. I like this one so I can imagine being at the beach, which is one of my favorite places.

Journaling
Writing/Journaling is a great form of expression and for reflection.  It helps me realize what I am grateful for and I just love to write.  The two journals I use at the moment are not heavy on the writing portion, but I like them a lot.

The Journal on the left is a five year journal. Each page has a question and I can see how my answers vary every year for five years. I like taking the few minutes each night to relax and reflect on a random question. The journal on the right is brand new to me and I am in love. It is called "Calm". Each page has information on being calm and activities for reflection and stress relief. I recommend this book for someone who does not like to write but needs inspiration to get calm.

Youtube/Music
Music has always been a constant in my life, so even in times of stress, I unwind and relax to my favorite songs.  Zoning out to my favorite youtubers always helps too! My favorite youtubers talk about food, fashion, makeup, etc and obviously these are my favorite things.  They take my mind off of whatever is worrying me. I will post a couple of my favorites below.
Estee Lalonde
Lily Pebbles
Zoella

Talking
I like to reach out to a few certain people depending on what I am stressed about.  I do not like to hold things in.  Talking to people allows me to get good advice and support.  At these times, I need a push of positive thinking.

It is important to have time for yourself. You are important and valuable.  Your homework this week is to implement something into your routine that will bring a calmness to your life.  Comment below what you try! Happy Sunday and have a calm week! xoxoxo
